Introducing RIEGL’s Latest Innovations in LiDAR Technology
From the peaks of icy glaciers to the depths of the ocean, RIEGL is expanding the reach of LiDAR technology in every environment. At this year’s INTERGEO in Frankfurt, we unveiled six new LiDAR systems that reinforce our commitment to sustainable, high-precision surveying.
Each system pushes the boundaries of 3D data capture on land, over water, and in the air. Together, they give professionals in environmental, transportation, and infrastructure sectors new ways to map, monitor, and protect the world’s most critical assets, from snowy mountains to powerlines, pipelines, railways, and highways.
Mapping from above

Our latest airborne systems lift corridor and infrastructure mapping to new levels of precision.
The VQ-1060 is a fully integrated corridor mapping system that combines multi-directional LiDAR scanning with forward, aft, and nadir imaging in a single platform. Ideal for powerline, pipeline, and railway surveys, it operates from 1,500 ft (AGL) and delivers around 70 points per square metre. It also captures 2–3.5cm imagery for an integrated, high-resolution view from above.
On the ground

The VMX-3HA extends this precision to mobile mapping. Powered by dual VUX-3HA scanners, it records the full 360° environment at up to 6 MHz pulse repetition rate (PRR) and 800 lines per second. Built for transportation, infrastructure, and environmental projects, it collects dense, detailed data at high speed without sacrificing accuracy.

The VZ-1200i adds high-speed, long-range capability to the VZ-i series of terrestrial laser scanners.
It performs panoramic scans in just 25 seconds and captures data at ranges up to 1,800 metres, supporting both static and kinematic capture for flexible field use.

For extreme conditions, the VZ-6000i-26 delivers reliable, ultra-long-range performance up to 6,000 metres.
Optimised for snow and ice, it combines advanced hardware with streamlined software for accurate, efficient data collection in challenging terrain.
Mapping from the sky to the sea
The VUX-820-G brings airborne LiDAR precision to underwater mapping.

This complete solution for topo-bathymetric surveys combines green-wavelength LiDAR, inertial navigation, and RGB imaging to capture underwater structures and seabed topography with exceptional clarity and efficiency. Its lightweight design is well suited to UAV operations, whether mounted on multirotor, fixed-wing, or VTOL drones.
Seamless integration
The RiLOC-F-INSIDE IMU/GNSS subsystem provides precise positioning and orientation for our VUX-series scanners. Compact and fully integrated, it supports small-scale UAV surveys with dependable accuracy and consistent data alignment across each mission.
The future of LiDAR
Each of these new systems forms part of a unified RIEGL ecosystem. Together, they create a complete workflow that connects airborne, terrestrial, and bathymetric data with reliable, consistent results across platforms and environments.
