What is Terrestrial Laser Scanning?

Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) is a surveying method using laser technology to capture highly detailed, three-dimensional measurements of landscapes, structures, and objects from ground level. Unlike traditional surveying techniques, which rely on manual measurements, TLS can deliver millions of data points within seconds.

FAQs

1 / Do you offer System Integrations?

Please contact us directly to discuss our OEM products.

2 / Are there service providers in my area?

Please contact us directly to get information about Service Providers in your area.

3 / What is the difference between LiDAR and terrestrial laser scanning?

LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) is a method of obtaining distance and is used by TLS. Airborne surveying has adopted the short descriptor ‘LiDAR’, whereas land-based surveying has adopted the term ‘Laser Scanning’. But they are both laser scanning and the detection method is commonly LiDAR.

4 / How accurate is a terrestrial laser scanner?

Our scanners are hugely accurate. This equipment can usually achieve millimetre levels of precision when scanning. How accurate it is depends on usage, model and environmental conditions.
